Satellite– Although about half the speed of DSL, satellite service offers access to areas where other alternative connection methods are unavailable. Two types of satellite communication exist. One type is a one way connection using the satellite connection to receive (download) and a phone line to send data (uploads). This is extremely slow for communication because you are still using your 56Kbs modem for half of your Internet communication. The other method is a two way satellite connection. This connection, while faster than the one way method, is still very limiting in upload speed and flexibility.
